Excel Conversion Service

This service is available for converting data from a variety of sources (plain text, word processing programmes, .pdf files, web pages etc.) into Excel. The presentation is adjusted to suit the needs of the user.

Convert Audit Programmes to MS Excel worksheets

Aimed at Internal Audit units and other consultancy organisations who require high speed conversion of their current audit/work programmes from the standard text based packages into MS Excel worksheets (or templates).

For most simple audit/work programmes you can estimate cost

• £3.00 per audit programme instruction, if you require each to be presented on a separate worksheet, or
• 50p per audit instruction for a single worksheet listing a full programme.

ACBA Requirements

• the audit programme as an electronic file in a format readable by ACBA - MS Word 2003 (or earlier), WordPerfect, Notepad or Acrobat Reader (.pdf) files
• an instruction on whether the programme is to be presented as a single worksheet or as a worksheet per programme instruction
• if required, a copy of the blank worksheet format into which the audit programme should be read
• any special input controls for auditor responses

The Ordering Process

• email ACBA the programme file(s) and other instructions as above
• ACBA will review, provide a quote for the order by email and indicate the expected delivery period following receipt of authorised acceptance
• the user will provide acceptance and proof of authority to pay in UK Sterling (an image of a formal order on appropriate letter-headed paper will suffice)
• MS Excel worksheet (in a form which can be loaded directly into the ACBA Electronic Working Papers package) will be sent by email.

Systems Design and Development

This covers the design and development of a range of Excel-based tailored packages. The range extends from individual working papers to complete functional systems (such as the ACBA Project Resource Scheduling and Control Kit, Auditing Su Doku Puzzles or Post a String). Most, but not all, systems development is undertaken within our ACBA Electronic Working Papers package (EWP). The use of EWP has a significant impact on spreadsheet designs and methodologies.

For these developments, the 'Feasibility Study' and the 'Systems Build' always take place in two or more phases which are evaluated and invoiced separately.

The charge for a 'Feasibility Study' will normally fall within the range £30.00 to £70.00 (plus VAT). 'Systems build' charges are much more variable but are dependent on your approval of the approach and charges submitted as part of the 'Feasibility Study'.

ACBA Requirements - Feasibility Study

The detail required for a 'Feasibility Study' is considerable. However this can be sent using the ACBA Spreadsheet Design Facility. Once completed you will be sent an email quoting for the cost a 'Feasibility Study' based on the spreadsheet specification provided.

Results of the Feasibility Study

The results will recommend a breakdown of the project into module building blocks (if needed) showing, where appropriate, the inter-dependency between modules.

For each recommended build module the results will include

• a trial layout for inputs, outputs and any intermediary stages
• detailed approaches for methods of use, data validation and reporting
• the requirements for special programming relating to user input forms, user review processes and reporting functions
• module charges and estimated delivery date.

The user must approve each module separately before construction can start.
